From 2018 to 2019, the Société d'Aménagement de Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole carried out the first phase of restructuring the Médiathèque Centrale Émile Zola with the aim of renovating its auditorium in order to extend the range of events it can host: film projections, lectures, round tables and symposiums, artistic and musical performances, exhibitions.

The second phase, from 2019 to 2021, consisted in transferring the Fellini space, which was previously outside the central building of the Media Library, to a new floor created for the occasion. The Fellini space offers a complete range of cultural services in the digital field: gaming (games and simulations on consoles and PCs, eSport events), cinema and television (movie consultation, archives, screenings, children's cinema), digital art.
